Technorati, one of the world’s largest blog search engines has launches blog advertising network, Technorati Media. Technorati has the most comprehensive index on the blogosphere, indexing more than 1.5 million posts daily or over 18 updates a second.

Early advertisers on the network include big-name companies like Honda, Toyota, Visa, Sony, Adobe, HP, Sandisk, Microsoft, and Universal Pictures. For now technorati is only working with larger blogs, but they plan to open up the network to anyone in a few months. Ads are sold on a CPM basis.

TechCrunch reports that The Company has been testing the new sales product with a number of partners, including BlogTalkRadio, BlogCritics, BlogCatalog, BlogTV, Technabob, GPSMagazine, GeekAlerts and NerdApproved. CEO Richard Jalichandra says these blogs reach a combined audience of approximately 17 million unique monthly visitors.

Euro 2008 is the 13th edition of the UEFA European Football Championship. The UEFA European Football Championship is the main football competition of the men’s national football teams governed by the UEFA (Union of European Football Associations), Held every four years since 1960. Union of European Football Associations is the administrative and controlling body for European football.

Euro 2008, which is being hosted by Austria and Switzerland, began on 7 June 2008 and ends on 29 June 2008.

World’s largest software maker Microsoft crop has developed a financial program designed to help investors track stock markets. Microsoft will offer a test version of the program through the web site of partner Zignals, an online finance firm.

The software helps users analyze patterns and build trading strategies, competing with similar program used by investment banks. Japanese second-largest pharmaceutical company Daiichi Sankyo Co. buys up to 51 per cent stake in Indian drug maker Ranbaxy Laboratories at Rs 737 a share, with a deal valued at about $4.6 billion.

Malvinder Singh will continue to lead Ranbaxy as CEO and managing director, and additionally assume the position of chairman of the board.

Singh said Ranbaxy’s association with Daiichi Sankyo “puts us on a new and much stronger platform to harness our capabilities in drug development, manufacturing and global reach.”

Reliance ADA Group’s social networking and entertainment website BigAdda.com has began in August 2007. The site will be similar to Orkut, but with additional features.

‘Big Adda’ is said to have a Web 2.0 format, and combines the usual ’social networking’ structure with features like blog posts, forums, video uploads, and a messaging feature that is more like e-mail.

BigAdda provide multiple language messaging services - users can post scraps Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

The site claims that they have 1.24 million users, adding 12,000-15,000 a day. BigAdda plans to add 10 million users by 2010.

Users can make an original video using a handycam, digicam or mobile or write a script and upload it on the BigAdda site. These would have to be uploaded on the ‘Direct a movie’ Adda and would be judged by Mr. Bhandarkar. The maker of the best video or script would get a chance to work with him.
