e-PCO is an collaborative effort from Intel, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Karnataka Public Call Office Association and ItzCash.
With the interdiction of e-PCO, the STD booths are going smart, which will be offering multiple online services like e-ticketing, utility bill payments, mobile recharges, insurance and banking and other online transactions. Interested STD booth owners have to invest in a broadband Internet connection and a PC and associated hardware like printers.
“The ePCOs will have a full-fledged information system with a PC, a webcam, a broadband link and a printer to provide a host of online services in English and Indian languages,” BSNL Karnataka circle chief general manager T.S. Kuppuswamy
