Dedicated ip address

I suggest you start new websites using a dedicated ip address. Only if you use a dedicated IP address you will get a unique c block domain back link when you crosslink your own websites. Otherwise Google will find out that both the websites are run by the same person and will penalize all the websites running on the same ip address for cross linking.

If your ip would be a shared ip, which will be shared with the other websites in the server (including those websites which the person sharing the server). In that case if 1 of the websites running on that ip gets penalized, then all the other websites will also get looked upon by Google, suspiciously.
 
I suggest you get a dedicated ip address for each new website. It costs very less. Just $2 per month per dedicated IP address.
