Do you ask for guaranteed cure?

”Will I be cured, doctor?” This is a very normal and natural question that comes to our mind when we go to the doctor for treatment of our major ailments. For minor ailments, no one cares to ask this question but for serious illness, we like to have an assurance because we all want to get cured. Purpose of this simple question is to know whether the illness is curable or not but at times the question is framed differently and the tone is such that gives an impression as if the person is asking for a guarantee of cure.

This is a question that can make the doctor think like a fool. The answer is as simple as the question. If every ailment could be cured with guarantee, would anyone die of disease, including the doctor himself and would the doctor let his near and dear ones die? I leave the answer open for you to think and answer your self.
