Compact fluorescent lamp or CFL also known as a compact fluorescent light bulb. Fluorescent light bulbs are more energy-efficient than regular bulbs. CFL save energy and money. They use 70% less electricity than regular light bulbs. This means that you can buy a 15-watt compact fluorescent bulb that produces the same amount of light as a 60-watt regular incandescent bulb. They also give off the same kind of light quality as regular bulbs.

In India, You use one CFL bulbs on 3.5 hours a day for 5 years, you save above 1200Rs. You get good company CFL bulbs less than 100Rs.

A fluorescent bulb contains a gas that produces invisible ultraviolet light when the gas is excited by electricity. The white powder on inside a fluorescent lamp is called phosphor. CFL’s contain small amounts of mercury, so if a bulb breaks you should use chemical-resistant gloves to clean it up.
