REVA, India’s first zero polluting and noiseless Electric Vehicle. The REVA Electric car was launched in June 2001 in India. It is manufactured by the Reva Electric Car Co, in Bangalore, India. Reva Electric Car Company is a Joint Venture Between Family Owned Maini Group and AEV of United States. Currently Reva electric Car is the highest selling electric car in the world.

REVA is a two-door hatchback, which can comfortably accommodate two adults and two minors. It costs just 40 paise for a km (less than 1 US cent). It has the lowest running cost in the world. The average running cost of a petrol car is Rs.4.0 per km. Top speed of this car is 80km/hour. In India, the car is priced similarly to the Maruti 800/Alto car.

Reva electric car co. launches their latest model named REVAi both India and international markets. This is the advanced version of their regular Reva car. Refer to http://www.revaindia.com for exact features of the REVAi.

Main disadvantage of this electric car is you can’t find any recharging stations rural area. Electric two wheelers have been a big hit in China rural areas. Some government announce subsidy for buying electric car.
