Xerox launches new colour printer for small and medium businesses

Xerox India has launched its new colour printer dubbed Phaser 6280 for small and medium businesses (SMBs). It has been designed to support advanced graphic arts applications, marketing applications and sales applications.

The new Xerox printer is available in two variants, the Phaser 6280 N (Rs. 48, 179) and the Phaser 6280 DN (Rs.60, 858).

Netgear launches new wireless router

Netgear has launched the new RangeMax Wireless-N Router, known as WNR3500, in India. It brings faster wireless speeds and enhanced Internet connectivity. It allows users to surf, e-mail, play on-line game, stream high definition video and make Internet calls concurrently.

Netgear has incorporated the Wireless-N technology and Gigabit Ethernet port in the router to improve the range and enhance wired network connections.

Microsoft Security Essentials

Microsoft has released a beta version of its free ‘Security Essentials’ antivirus software, originally code-named Morro. It is available to the first 75,000 subscribers in the US, Israel, Brazil and China.

The Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) will attempt to protect Windows users from viruses, spyware, rootkits and Trojans. It is meant to run in the background, without constantly bombarding users with security alerts or using a lot of system resources.

Microsoft Windows 7 Price

The world’s largest software company Microsoft Corp is to sell the standard home-user version of its new Windows 7 operating system for 8 percent less than the comparable version of its Vista system, as the global downturn hits spending on technology.

The new operating system will be generally released on Oct. 22. It will be available on pre-order from U.S. stores such as Best Buy, online retailer Amazon.com and the company’s own website from June 26, 2009.

New Vista PC buyers to get free upgrade to Windows 7

World’s largest software company Microsoft Corp has said that new consumers who buy Vista PCs before the much anticipated Windows 7 operating system launches in October will get a free upgrade to the new operating system.

People who buy a new PC with Vista Home Premium, Business or Ultimate starting from June 27 and before the October 22 release date of new OS, then they will be eligible to receive a free upgrade to Windows 7 when it becomes available on October 22nd. Vista Home Basic is not eligible for upgrade.

Tata Motors launched Jaguar and Land Rover luxury Car models in India‎

India’s largest vehicles maker Tata Motors has launched Jaguar and Land Rover luxury cars in India, a brand which it acquired from the US car maker Ford for $2.3 billion in March last year. Indian luxury car market already includes rivals like Porsche, BMW, Mercedes and Audi.

Congress chief Sonia Gandhi would inaugurate much-awaited Bandra-Worli Sea Link Bridge, seen as an engineering marvel, in Mumbai (India) on June 30.

The Rs 1,600 crore, 5.6 km Bandra-Worli Sea Link (BWSL), which will connect the suburban Bandra with Worli on the south here, is ready and will be open to the public by the end of June, a Maharashtra State Roadways Development Corporation (MSRDC) Minister Vimal Mundada said Sunday.

BSNL launches desktop PC

Government-run telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on Friday launched a desktop PC (Novatiums netPC) for Rs. 6,500 in urban area and Rs. 1,900 in rural areas in Gujarat. The computers are made by Chennai-based company, Novatium Solutions which will sell these computers through BSNL in Gujarat.
